Van Buren--- Stella M. Carrier, 80, died peacefully Sunday, July 14, 2019, at a Caribou hospital, with her loving husband at her side. She was born September 23, 1938 in Van Buren, a daughter of the late Thomas and Antoinette (Berube) Levesque.
Stella worked over 35 years for American Hardware in Connecticut.
Following her retirement, she and her husband relocated to their hometown of Van Buren. She was loved by everyone and greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. Stella enjoyed playing cards, was an exceptional cook who enjoyed feeding her visiting family and friends, and volunteering her baking talents to the St. Bruno-St. Remi Church Mercy Meals.
She was very proud of herself and her loving family, and always delighted when her sons and grandchildren stopped by for a visit.
She is survived by: her husband of over 61 years, Robert Carrier of Van Buren; two sons, Michael Carrier and his wife Cindy of Southington, CT and Brian Carrier of New London, CT; four siblings, Fernand Levesque, Leona Marquis, Reno Levesque and Roger Levesque, all of Van Buren; four grandchildren, Shelly, Dawn, David and Katie; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by a son, Daniel Carrier, two brothers, Robert and Rosaire Levesque, and a sister, Edwina Parent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Thursday morning 8:30- 9:30 AM at Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St. Van Buren. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
